I am looking for someone good. Are you good? Probably. But I am not just looking for "good" and neither are you. We are all trying to find someone whose many facets of personality are compatible with ours; someone who just "fits," who "gets us," and who has that certain "je ne sais quoi." I could tell you that I am a person who is intelligent, confident, logical, sexy, likes to read, likes to swim and is frickin' hilarious. I could also tell you that I love New York's nightlife, want to pursue Chemistry as a career and have a little green bird. However…there is a problem: what is great on paper doesn't necessarily translate into being something that is great in person. If it did, this whole thing would be much simpler. Maybe you like intelligent people, swimming, reading, and birds. Or maybe you like floating in swimming pools with intelligent people while reading about birds (that would be funny). But you might meet me in person and hate me. Or I might hate you. Or maybe we will both be looking at our watches, holding in our yawns and wishing the other would just hurry up and finish that drink (and for god's sake not order another one!). We can’t judge by reading a personal profile whether or not this will happen. In other words, this is a big crapshoot! Every date is really a shot in the dark, which makes this process less efficient (although we do get some good stories out of it).
